Truc Lam Pagoda and Tuyen Lam Lake

Truc Lam is a Buddhist Pagoda, located outside the centre of Da Lat, just 7 km away from Dalat Center. It is a Zen Buddhist monastery, which you can get in an entrance to the temple with 61 steps or can go directly past Tuyen Lam Lake and then climb 222 steps past the triple gated entrance to enter the main courtyard in front of the temple.
The Pagoda covers an area of 24 hectares including the Buddhist temples, the pretty flower gardens,the trees, is set on top of a hill shrouded in pine forest.
Built in 1997 by Vietnamese architect, the public quarters is in a spacious plateau area on the grounds of the temple, at approximately 1300 m above sea level, overlooking Benhuit mountain and the wide expanse of Tuyen Lam Lake. The best way to reach the pagoda is the cable car.
Tuyen Lam Lake is a man-made lake, because a dam was buit here in 1982 for the water reservoir, just 6km to the South of Dalat, has the water surface of 350 ha. Tuyen mean "a stream", Lam means "a forest" , it could mean " a place for the water and the woods meet" . This is the extremely appropriate venue for sports activities, canoing, boating or fishing. And you can view all the lake from Truc Lam Pagoda.
Cable car: 4-kilometre cable car. On a clear day you’ll be able to see farmland, greenhouses, lakes and distant mountains. The cable car connects Robin Hill, which has the usual cafe and souvenir shops, to Truc Lam Pagoda and Tuyen Lake – both are definitely worth the visit. Robin Hill is just 3 kilometres south of Xuan Huong lake.
