Chau Doc Destinations

Chau Doc is a city in An Giang Province, bordering Cambodia, in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam.

Population : 145,000 people in 2016

The city is located by the Hau Giang River (Bassac River) or  (a branch of the Mekong River flowing through Vietnamese territory) and Vinh Te canal. Chau Doc is situated 250 kilometres (160 mi) west of Ho Chi Minh City. It takes about six hours to travel by bus from Ho Chi Minh City

Chau Doc is famous for its variety of fish sauces . The local economy is based on culture of basa catfish export and on tourism. The town is a busy trading center due to its border position with Cambodia

What to see in Chau Doc?

- A highlight of a visit to Chau Doc is a boat trip on one of the small paddle boats that collect near the western end of the park. For a few dollars an hour they'll paddle you around the many floating raft houses and fish farms. Doing this at dawn can be very photogenic and rewarding.
